Laz began his career early on, performing in diapers for family members. His first performance was in the Robert Fulton Grammar School talent show. He later studied theatre at Rider University and Ramapo College performing in such plays as, "A Few Good Men", "A Midsummer Night's Dream", and "Mack the Knife". Laz trained as a classical and contemporary actor and also began to write and direct his own one act plays. Her grand theatrical debut was in The Spinach Musical at the Lenexa, Kansas annual Spinach Festival. And after throwing raw spinach at her audience, Amy was hooked.
