Mark T Evans
Mark T Evans (Composer/Musical Director) is a composer and musical director originally from Long Island. He has been seen at Wings Theater as the musical director of The Spitfire Grill (Phare Play Prod.) and as the MD and Orchestrator of Topsy Turvy Loves (John Chatterton Prod.). Mark has just received his MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. In addition to writing the score for I Am Jim Thompson, Mark has written music for Buddy Holly At the Armory (Prospect Theater Co.), also with Zac Kline and Eric Kubo, and music and contributed to the book for Human Interest, with Gena Oppenheim. In 2008, he was the recipient of the ASCAP Foundation’s Frederick Loewe Award for Emerging Musical Theatre Composers. Before returning to New York, Mark lived in Philadelphia for eight years, where he worked for many theaters in and around the city, including the Arden Theatre Co., the Walnut Street Theater, and the Prince Music Theater. In 2003, Mark earned his BA in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
