Brett Maughan

Brett Maughan (Director/Lighting) started out in Colorado and trained to be a geological engineer before submitting fully to his passion for theatre, which brought him to NYC in 2005. He works as a freelance lighting designer to support his directing, writing and acting habits. NYC credits include Oberon in Moonbeam Productions’ Midsummer Night’s Dream and Prologue/Stalagmus in Ludicrum Theatre’s The Prisoners. He made his off-off-Broadway directing debut with Nicu’s Spoon’s Tales of the Lost Formicans and recently served as Light Designer/Tech Director/Production Stage Manager for the North American and UK tours of James Devine’s Tapeire, including a run at The New Victory on 42nd St. He is currently the principal Lighting Designer/SM for New York Theatre Ballet and the Tech Director/Resident Designer at the Richmond Shepard Theatre.
