Rick Hip-Flores

RICK HIP-FLORES (pianist) most recently conducted Singin in the Rain at Northshore Music Theatre. He was seen as musical director and bandleader for the Neil Sedaka musical, Breaking Up is Hard to Do. Other recent credits include Laugh Whore, Beauty and the Beast, Last Five Years, 8 by Tenn, Fame, Fame Forever, and A Christmas Carol. As resident musical director for Musicals Tonight, Richard interprets lesser known works by theater greats such as Jerome Kern and Cole Porter. He has written music and lyrics for Dido and Aeneas, Strega Nona, Hamlet Redux, Now That You've Seen Me Naked, and the Columbia University Varsity Show. He has also composed scores for Tartuffe and As You Like It, both produced by Worth Street Players. This year, his newest show Neon Mirage was featured in the Humana Festival at the Actor's Theater of Louisville. Richard is a composer/lyricist in the BMI Musical Theater Workshop, and has co-founded a theater composition program at AMDA.
