Megan Demarest
Theatre Artist
Megan is the founder of Whirled Peas Productions and a Brooklyn-based theatre artist who can be seen both on stage and backstage. NYC producing credits include A Thousand Words: 7 Short Plays on Photography (Shalimar Productions), Estrogenius Festivals '06 & '07 (Manhattan Theatre Source), Cloud 9 and Soap Opera (WPP). Directing credits include Steel Magnolias (SSC), Soap Opera and Rumple Schmumple (Estro '07), and now Thoroughly Stupid Things, which is participating in the NY International Fringe Festival 2008. Most recently, Megan returned to her alma mater Salem State College as a guest artist to play the title role in Mother Courage and Her Children directed by Tom Luddy. Favorite past roles include Zombie in Young Zombies in Love (NY International Fringe Festival '04), Magenta in The Rocky Horror Show, Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar, Olimpia in The Conduct of Life, and Hannah Jarvis in Arcadia. She received her BFA in Performance in 2002.
