Audrey Crabtree (Director)

Audrey Crabtree (Director) is an award-winning performer, writer, and director. She works with actors, improvisers, clowns, bouffons, burlesque performers, and performance artists, teaching, coaching and directing theatre for more than 17 years. She’s directed and performed with improv groups ComedySportz, The Brave New Workshop, The Bad Mamma Jammas, Jump Up and Run, The Young and the Weightless, Petersen Park and Disney California Adventure. She is currently directing My Name Is… at Ars Nova. She is Co-Artistic Director of Ten Directions, creators of more than 15 collaborative productions including Bouffon Glass Menajoree and Without Regret, Deenie Nast. She also wrote and performed with NPR, MN Public Radio, and performed in Comedy Central’s “Let’s Bowl.” She was a Collective: Unconscious Board Member for four years where she co-created 8 original ensemble works including the Drama Desk Award winning Charlie Victor Romeo. Audrey has studied clown and bouffon with Sue Morrison and Giovanni Fusetti, clown with Philippe Gaulier, and physical comedy with David Shiner and is a co-founder/director of the NY Clown Theatre Festival. Her students have performed on David Letterman, The Conan O’Brien Show, and Mad TV and are featured performers in cabarets, art museums and Spiegeltents around the world.  www.audreycrabtree.com
