Matt Newton
... grew up in Guilford, Connecticut, graduated from Vassar College in 1999 with a BA in Drama then studied theatre at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center in Waterford, Connecticut. He moved to New York after college to pursue theatre. First television role was playing a blind football player in a memorable episode of Comedy Central's cult hit "Strangers with Candy." From there moved to Los Angeles and went on to guest star in over a dozen television shows, including "Gilmore Girls," "Judging Amy," "J.A.G.", "Dragnet," "Undressed," "Criminal Minds," "Drake and Josh," "Miracles," and "Family Law." Film debut was a minor role in National Lampoon's Van Wilder starring Ryan Reynolds. Then starred opposite Jeremy Renner and Bruce Davison in the indie film Dahmer which was nominated for three Independent Spirit Awards in 2002. Currently stars with Karen Allen and Michael Lerner in the Tribeca Film Festival hit Poster Boy which is playing in theatres nationwide. Next stars alongside Ben Gazarra and Lesley Ann Warren in the soon to be released indie film The Shore which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in 2005.
