Darren has worked extensively with New York Deaf Theater, appearing in 'The Necklace' and he also co-directed their hit 'Sign Me Alice'. He has worked with Clubbed Thumb Theatre interpreting 'What Then?'. He is also a founding member of the comedy troupe 'Funny Zero'. He has been seen as a man in tuxedo reciting (in ASL) the final speech from Charlie Chaplin's 'The Great Dictator' at Whitney Biennial 2006. The role of Tilden is his onstage speaking debut.
