THE BOX SHOW

Genre: Solo Performance
Written & performed by Dominique Salerno

In this hilarious solo show, one woman plays over 25 different characters from inside a kitchen cupboard. (Yes, you read that correctly: the whole show takes place inside of a cupboard!) Each time the doors open the audience discovers an entirely new reality, ranging from a drunken couple in Las Vegas to the entire Greek Army inside the Trojan Horse, a lonely Giantess, a lost Pope, and so much more! With sketch-style characters and musical numbers, THE BOX SHOW is a fast-paced roller coaster ride that plunges its audience into vastly different worlds without ever leaving the physical space of The Box. The space is limited, but the comedic possibilities are endless. The New York Times hailed THE BOX SHOW as “The most purely delicious production… relentlessly inventive…a paragon of Fringe form.”

“She keeps surprising you…It’s often hilarious, but what makes the show most memorable are its moments of darkness...This interplay between light and dark helps The Box Show achieve what every vignette show wants: It is even greater than the sum of its parts." – Time Out NY Critics Pick, FringeNYC 2016

“Highly skilled comic... Salerno is a masterful playwright and theatrical actress—and even a powerhouse singer! Salerno is virtually certain to be a star… the finest show of any kind I saw at FringeNYC 2016." – Hy Reviews, Best of New York Comedy

"One powerhouse performer... Dominique Salerno is an endless well of energy... this show is hysterical." - Theater is Easy
