PAP SMEAR

Genre: Comedy
Written by Marshaline Letcher and Directed by Jennifer Vermont-Davis

A COMEDY ABOUT A WOMAN, HER OUTRAGED HUSBAND, AND HER DOCTOR

Going to the gynecologist was the easy part. Making her husband understand why the doctor's head was under the sheet and between her...well, that was another story.

Pap Smear revolves around Eugene (Kim Sullivan) who enters the examination room at an inopportune moment and finds his wife Sharon (Richarda Abrams) and her gynecologist, Dr. North (William Vila), in an awkward position. Sharon attempts to explain the examination process but Eugene's imagination runs wild, accusations of infidelity fly, and high jinx ensue. The idea for Pap Smear came when Ms. Letcher was preparing for her annual examination. While Pap Smear is profoundly funny, Letcher says, "I hope that women take home [from the play] the importance of yearly exams. And that men will understand the importance of monogamy."
