ALICE IN WONDERLAND

Genre: Kids
©
Adapted By Brainerd Duffield, Produced and Directed by Stephen Michael Rondel

Imagine Alice, 7 years old, born and raised in today's Greenwich Village, New York City. From the moment she wakes up until she rests her weary head, her parents over schedule and manage her day. With Architecture, Piano, Book Club, French and Ballet classes overwhelming her, Alice has forgotten what it is like to be a child and simply play.
Will her journey through Wonderland help her reclaim her childhood or is Alice destined to become an adult way before her time?

The cast is comprised of a tight ensemble of four professional adult actors and five young actors trained directly from our program.

Come see what audience and critics have called, "the best kind of children's theater...clever without being dull and amusing without being dumb...as entertaining for adults as is it for the children in the audience."

About the Company: New Acting Company

Created and founded in 2000 by Artistic Director, Stephen Michael Rondel, the New Acting Company's mission is to use the energy of live performance (both onstage and in class) allowing students to face issues of responsibility, commitment, trust, friendship, teamwork, reading comprehension, self-esteem, risk and success.

We pride ourselves in offering children, teens and adults the opportunity to study, rehearse and perform challenging texts in our professional, state of-the-arts 100 seat theater. Our expectations are high. Students are consistently challenged to "rise to the occasion," and at the same time we accept that live theater is a fickle art form, fraught with risks and surprises. We believe it is this unexpected aspect of live performance that has the unique ability to lift our students up with pride, to reveal skills which they were not aware of and to change (or at least point out) the inaccuracy of their perceived limitations.

Our annual professional productions feature classic plays, fairytales and original adaptations of children's literature guaranteed to engage the adults in the audience as thoroughly as the children.

Most importantly of all, The New Acting Company strives to be a fun, safe and creative place for children, teens and adults to express themselves. We pride ourselves in bringing top-quality family theater to the heart of Greenwich Village.
