"Warmhearted, delightful, and splendidly funny!"
The New York Times

Hailed as a "laugh riot" by the Wall Street Journal, actor and comedian Yakov Smirnoff envisions a world where sadness and tears are replaced with love and laughter.  Fans of the Russian born entertainer will enjoy Yakov's hilarious and insightful philosophies on love, relationships, and the differences between men and women in Happily Ever Laughter: The Neuroscience of Romantic Relationships.

Yakov Smirnoff is a Russian-American comedian, actor, and writer. Born Yakov Naumovich Pokhis in Russia, Yakov moved to the United States, becoming a U.S. citizen on July 4, 1986 at the Statue of Liberty. He started his career as a stand-up comic with an act consisting of mocking life, as a Russian immigrant, under consumerism and communism. He gained popularity as a top attraction at the world famous Comedy Store, and his career skyrocketed after landing an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson

Yakov has appeared in several television shows including Night Court and Major Dad, his own Showtime special entitled "Yakov Smirnoff from Moscow...Idaho" and his own television series, What A Country. Film credits include The Money Pit with Tom Hanks, Heartburn with Jack Nicholson, Brewster's Millions with Richard Pryor, and Moscow on the Hudson with Robin Williams. His one-man Broadway show, As Long As We Both Shall Laugh, played a limited run at the American Airlines Theatre in 2003. He also spent time teaching "The Business of Laughter," as a professor at Missouri State University and Drury University.
